Celebrity Shoes: Diane Kruger wears Malone Souliers lace-up pumps

Diane Kruger is a red carpet pro and we rarely see her in the worst dressed list. Behind her red carpet successes is because of her glam team, particularly her stylist. To show her support, she attended the book launching of How To Accessorize by her very own stylist, Micaela Erlanger. She wore a ruffled top, slim pants and accessorized with a sparkly clutch and Malone Souliers pumps.

Hell No: Thigh High UGG Boots For Men

I am lost for words. Uggs are comfortable and has been around for so many years that even though they are not quite pleasing to look at in terms of fashion, we forgive them because we must choose comfort over style especially during the unforgivable cold season. That doesn't mean Ugg must go crazy and make their signature boots thigh-high for men, though. These boots first appeared on the runway of Y/Project during the A/W Paris Fashion Week because it's fashion. But not for everyone. What do you think?

Meghan Markle joined the British Royal Family for a Christmas church service at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene wearing a wrap coat, brown beret and suede boots.

The Craziest Designer Shoes

It has been a while since I posted about shoes that are on the crazy side but are on the market for the small margin of customers who are giddy about extraordinary shoe designs. Those shoes do not come cheap, though, because most of them are designed and produced by established brands and they are launched on the runway. Take a look at some of the daring shoe designs so far.

Dolce & Gabbana "Carretto Siciliano" printed pumps, $4,995.

This Dolce & Gabbana pump is actually fun to look at. It reminds me of fiestas, carnivals and pizzas. The crazy thing about it is the heel in the shape of a woman who looks like a queen because of the embellished heel atop her head.

Gucci "Queer Core' embellished pumps, $2,390.

This lady debuted on the Resort 2017 runway. It also comes in black, light blue and white. What's crazy about this shoe is that it is a brogue with buckled toe, crystal embellished heel and the three straps that go up above the ankle. It actually looks like a 4-in-1 shoe--pumps, brogues, sandals and boots.

Balmain "Constance" suede pump, $1,585.

The only crazy thing about this Balmain pump is the exaggerated tongue that creates an illusion of a boots if you look at it in front. It also comes in all black suede. It's Balmain and I bet Kim Kardashian-West won't mind owning one.

Aquazzura "Voodoo" sandals, $1,950.

So, this Aquazzura sandals is tribal inspired. Tassels and beads are recurring embellishments on shoes in the past few years but when added with feathers to tickle your legs, that's something.

Tom Ford buckled strap sandals, $1,790.

Unstable heel? Check! Multiple buckles? Check! Crazy! But in all honesty, I would love to try this on.

Vetements + Manolo Blahnik satin boots, $4,225.

This is what Rihanna and Kim Kardashian-West wore a few days ago. Riri wore the bright orange version while Kim had it in black. The crazy feature of this boots is that it goes way up to the hips--the waist, almost, if you are petite. This design collaboration is from the Spring 2017 collection.

This shoe has an identity crisis. Period.

Well, this is interesting.

It's almost Christmas and despite the chilly breeze at night, it is still scorching hot during daytime in the Philippines. I am not complaining, I actually like our weather because I get to wear sandals and boots in one day. For us, our sandals really don't have a break so I think that wearing this Giuseppe Zanotti sandals is justified. What I like about it is the gilded golden fishbone with crystal eye that I can wear day in or day out.

Donna Karan Spring 2014 RTW Runway Shoes

Donna Karan played with blues and browns and tribal prints for Spring 2014. It is my most favorite collection so far and I am not talking about shoes yet. The shoes are a mix of earth colors and snakeskin with studs and stacked heels to complement the entire collection.

Nicholas Kirkwood cap toe pointy pumps

I get overly excited whenever I see shoes that are stylish to wear from the boardroom to a cocktail party. I get double excited whenever I learn that the shoe is from a brand that is known to have quirky and sometimes over-the-top designs, like this Nicholas Kirkwood pump in classic pointy toe shape but in mix upper materials--striped elaphe, suede and grosgrain--minus the ubiquitous Kirkwood platform.

Charlotte Olympia 'Birthday' flats

The moment I laid my eyes on these Charlotte Olympia  'Birthday' flats, I already know that it should have a post in this blog. These shoes are way off to what the designer is known for but it is, to my taste, the most adorable flats to win my choosy shoe heart!

Charlotte Olympia 'Birthday Aquarius' flats.

These flats are from the designer's Cosmic Collection. I thought the collection is about the moon and stars adorning the ubiquitous exaggerated platforms of the designer but to my surprise it was actually the signs of the zodiac. I am an Aquarian and I wouldn't mind wearing my sign. 

The 1/2-inch golden heel creates a nice contrast to the suede with metallic leather piping. The almond toe is adorned with a crystal embellished zodiac sign.
