Marni wooden heel peep toe pumps

Marni wooden heel peep toe pumps, $284 previously $710 at The Out Net.
Happy Chinese New Year!

Are you attending any parties tonight? Lucky you! Unfortunately for me, I will just be home probably blogging until my fingers hurt. Kidding. I wouldn't know it is new year (for the Chinese) tomorrow if I hadn't turned on my TV while I was cooking dinner.

After hearing the news, I suddenly remembered my new year resolutions which includes not buying more than four shoes in a year. It is a hard thing to do since I write about gorgeous shoes. When I see shoes that just make you itch to click on the buy this or add this to your cart button, I tell myself I shouldn't have put that on my list. Last month I bought snakeskin wedge sandals so I am left with three.

To make the long story short, I am dying over this Marni peep toe pumps with wooden heels. It has 5.5" heel and 1.5" platform. The uppers are made of metallic blue leather (my favorite color).

Wear it with these:

Marni polka dot ballet flats... perfect for New Year

Ooohhh.... neon yellow polka dot shoes!  I think these are cute and appropriate for New Year.  You see, it is customary in the Philippines to wear polka dots on New Year's eve because it is said to bring prosperity to its wearer.  Love the idea?  If you do, this Marni polka dot ballet flats can be yours for $500 at Net-A-Porter.

Mirror Image: Kurt Geiger 'Echinacea' platform pumps with bow detail vs. Marni

These are Kurt Geiger's 'Echinacea' pumps with removable bow detail that I featured last July that you can buy for $280.

These are Marni's version with thicker heels that can be bought for $10 more than Kurt Geiger's.

Seen: Rihanna wearing Marni bowtie leather pumps

 Photo from here.

Don't mind the entire look, I just want you to focus on Rihanna's pumps.  Those are Marni's bowtie pumps in camel color that I featured last August.  Why does she always wear pumps with socks?  Why make ugly the beautiful things?  Some people are just weird.

Marni bowtie leather court shoe

I was supposed to feature these pumps last night but my laptop had some problem with the flash player.  I hate it when that happens in the middle of my blogging session.  Anyway, the shoe finally made it right here.  What I like about it are the bows that are placed off the middle to make it look quite different from other bowed pumps.  The heels look really cool, too.  It is chunky on top but it gets narrower at the bottom but still it is wide on the sides for added support.  I could not wait to get my hands, err, feet in it.

You can get these lovelies at Net-A-Porter for $735.

Mirror Image: Miu Miu 'Basket' pump vs. Marni cut-out pump

I've been searching for days for shoes that are almost the same and I thought yesterday was my lucky day but when I viewed the shoes side by side, my eyes or my enthusiasm are fooling me.  Today is different... I was just about to feature a sandal by Prada but these pumps by Miu Miu and Marni caught my eye and this time my eyes aren't fooling me.  Yes, they are in different color but they look the same in every angle and both are cut-outs.  Marni's sells for $158 while Miu Miu's sells for $590... same looks but way different in price.  You decide which one to pick.
