Celebrity Shoes: Danai Gurira wears Fendi slingback pumps

We love Danai Gurira's fashion sense. She's one of the few artists who never miss in the style department. She's not afraid to wear colors and mix and match patterns like this long sleeve top with bird print she wore with a plain high waist skirt and monogramed Fendi slingback pumps with the same color spectrum as her top.

Celebrity Shoes: Mary J. Blige wears Fendi sandals

Mary J. Blige attended the Essence Festival in New Orleans wearing a Fendi jumpsuit. She likes the brand so much that she went all out and wore sandals from the same brand. While wearing head-to-toe from a specific designer is not unusual, Ms. Blige decided it's best to also show off who made her shoes.

This is the black and white logo embellished sandals by Fendi. Its upper is made of stretch mesh and ribbed knit to achieve the sporty look with a striped heel to make it even more unique. This design is from the brand's Spring 2018 collection. It is available at Net-A-Porter for $1,100.

Buckled Boots at Bluefly

I really don't do New Year's resolutions but I was forced to and included on my list is I will limit buying shoes.   I know it is going to be hard if I will be seeing gorgeous shoes wherever I go.  But, don't worry.  My limited purchase will not affect in any way my daily posts.

4th Day Before Christmas Wishlist: Fendi mesh platform bootie

I have issues with mesh but if it is incorporated well with leather and if the shoe has a great design, by all means, I will try the shoe.  This Fendi mesh platform bootie is so perfect for the 4th day of my wishlist.  I went to the mall earlier this day and I saw a lot of mesh shoes and dresses.  I think they are cute, you just have to learn how to wear them with the right attitude.  What I like about this Fendi bootie is that it looks so feminine even without bows or flower designs... the gray, white and mesh combo reminds me of swan wings.  And swans are pretty and feminine.

Fendi 'Particulier' platform pump with ankle strap

Wow!  I have reservations on ankle straps because it makes visible distinction between the leg and foot making the wearer look shorter.  I wasn't blessed with long legs so I am very particular when it comes to silhouettes.  One day I will try to wear one like this 'Particulier' platform pump with ankle strap by Fendi.  Although I have seen this design before, Fendi made it their own by covering the suede upper with mesh.  This is available at  Saks for $785.

Stunning isn't it?  This is the kind of pump that is a better choice than the basic pumps.  In front, it is as if a medallion is mounted on the shoe.  It gives just the right amount of story and appeal to the basic peep toe pump.  I love it!  This 'FF' jeweled peep to pump by Fendi is available at Bluefly for $632.

I rarely feature Fendi shoes but those rare moments were definitely worth it.  This capped toe pump is simply gorgeous.  The mixed texture of suede and leather really means business.  The black sole and heel is a great contrast to gray.  This is a good investment piece--classy, elegant and can be with you in any occasion.  You can have this at Bluefly for $672.

Splurge, Save, Steal: Utilitarian Booties

Utilitarianism is in.  What is great about this trend if that it adds a subtle manly appeal to an ensemble.  It reminds me of the time when Elizabeth Smith Miller wore pants--the first woman to wear it.  In my previous entry, I mentioned that I love boots and booties.  I wear them even during summer--no, not the knee-high ones, I am still in my sanity.  But, why not?  I remember Levi's ad in the Philippines that said:  Which is better, a bikini in winter or a denim jacket in summer?  Jacket in summer!  So guys, welcome to another edition of the Splurge, Save and Steal:

Logo Loco

Admit it guys, you own at least one monogrammed shoe.  I perfectly remember, seven years ago when Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Fendi, and all other expensive brands logo showing off on almost every known thing wearable. It was a fad and a symbol of a certain social status.  I admit to owning a Fendi monogrammed mule that I wear almost everyday in the office.  After almost ten years, monogrammed and designer logo showing things are making a silent come back in the world of shoes.

This is an extremely high heeled shoe by Fendi.  I'd grow six inches if I will wear this... but I don't want to wear this because I have clumsy feet.
