Shoe Suggestions for Keri Russell

Keri Russell is beautiful but we think the styling of this particular look seems as if she came out of a 90's magazine cover. She could have styled her hair up and might we suggest these shoes instead?

Manolo Blahnik x Rihanna #SoStoned Collection

Rihanna loves Manolo Blahnik's shoes as much as Sarah Jessica Parker and her love for the brand is cemented on their third collaboration called #SoStoned. It's named such because the shoe design revolves around the use of crystals and the revival of perspex heels and PVC straps to make the embellishments stand out.

This design is called "Poison Ivy". It is a knee high gladiator sandals with crystal embellishment from the toe to the knees. The PVC straps are adjustable. It is like having your legs studded with Swarovski crystals like Rihanna's photo above.

This open toe mules has a block mid heel of 50mm and combination of red and white Swarovski crystals. The "Spice" is inspired by opulent and lavish bedroom silhouette. Imagine wearing it with a night gown.

The "Bajan Princess" made for special parties. It has a 105 mm stiletto heel and combination of blue, yellow and white Swarovski crystals.

This ankle strap sandals called "Purple Chalice" has 105 mm stiletto heel and combination of purple and white Swarovski crystals. This is perfect for a formal party.

Celebrity Shoes: Kim Kardashian and Rihanna in Vetements x Manolo Blahnik boots

Only Kim Kardashian and Rihanna can pull-off those waist high boots by Vetements x Manolo Blahnik. In fact, I included these boots in the craziest designer shoes to date. The two fashion risk takers styled the boots with coats, their approach differ--Kim opted an all black ensemble while Rihanna chose to fold the other leg and tamed the tangerine hue by wearing shorts and black cropped tank. Who styled it best?

The Craziest Designer Shoes

It has been a while since I posted about shoes that are on the crazy side but are on the market for the small margin of customers who are giddy about extraordinary shoe designs. Those shoes do not come cheap, though, because most of them are designed and produced by established brands and they are launched on the runway. Take a look at some of the daring shoe designs so far.

Dolce & Gabbana "Carretto Siciliano" printed pumps, $4,995.
This Dolce & Gabbana pump is actually fun to look at. It reminds me of fiestas, carnivals and pizzas. The crazy thing about it is the heel in the shape of a woman who looks like a queen because of the embellished heel atop her head.

Gucci "Queer Core' embellished pumps, $2,390.
This lady debuted on the Resort 2017 runway. It also comes in black, light blue and white. What's crazy about this shoe is that it is a brogue with buckled toe, crystal embellished heel and the three straps that go up above the ankle. It actually looks like a 4-in-1 shoe--pumps, brogues, sandals and boots.

Balmain "Constance" suede pump, $1,585.

The only crazy thing about this Balmain pump is the exaggerated tongue that creates an illusion of a boots if you look at it in front. It also comes in all black suede. It's Balmain and I bet Kim Kardashian-West won't mind owning one.

Aquazzura "Voodoo" sandals, $1,950.
So, this Aquazzura sandals is tribal inspired. Tassels and beads are recurring embellishments on shoes in the past few years but when added with feathers to tickle your legs, that's something.

Tom Ford buckled strap sandals, $1,790.
Unstable heel? Check! Multiple buckles? Check! Crazy! But in all honesty, I would love to try this on.

Vetements + Manolo Blahnik satin boots, $4,225.
This is what Rihanna and Kim Kardashian-West wore a few days ago. Riri wore the bright orange version while Kim had it in black. The crazy feature of this boots is that it goes way up to the hips--the waist, almost, if you are petite. This design collaboration is from the Spring 2017 collection.

Chanel tweed sneaker boots, $895.
This shoe has an identity crisis. Period.

Shoe Suggestions for Janelle Monae

Janelle Monae looks fabulous in that intricately beaded Zuhair Murad dress but I don't think her boots are. It just doesn't quite fit in to the whole ensemble. I have picked quite a few quirky alternatives to make her stand out even more.

Kurt Geiger lace pumps, $104.

Vetements + Manolo Blahnik satin pumps, $1,775.

Christian Louboutin "Louloudancing" sandals, $995.

Dolce & Gabbana "Keira" sandals, $1,995.

Celebrity Shoes: Elizabeth Olsen in Manolo Blahnik 'Hangisi' pumps

Elizabeth Olsen is a pro in making a casual outfit look dressier, just like her tin sisters. Case in point her over-sized white blazer, distressed jeans and black shirt that she wear with Manolo Blahnik "Hangisi" pumps in lilac satin upper. I bet SJP is proud! After all these years, the Hangisi proves to be one of the few dress, but very versatile, pumps worthy of our closet space.

Manolo Blahnik "Hangisi" pump is made of lilac satin upper, 4-inch heels and the iconic jeweled buckle. Get your pair at farfetch for $965, just click on the link.

Manolo Blahnik "Traspuesto" satin pump

Go Green!

It's St. Patrick's Day and what better way to celebrate it than to wear something green to bring good luck. If you are a little shy to wear a green dress, why not wear green shoes instead.

You can go sweet with a lace up pump like this Bionda Castana pump with scalloped toe edges.

Add a romantic twist on your ensemble with this green pump with lace overlay.

You can go a little punk with studs.

Or something metallic for evening parties like this Giuseppe Zanotti pump.

Or wear something satin for added glam.

Classic pumps will get you from day to night. If you go for a darker shade of green, it's for evening affairs. It you go for a lighter shade, it's for daytime.

Manolo Blahnik 'Ruggio' high heel sandal and 'Bohu' suede sandal

Sometimes when a shoe designer who is known for making classic and elegant styles try to produce quirky and unconventional ones, the tendency is mixed reactions from their loyal customers... case in point, Jimmy Choo who collaborated with Ugg Australia. This time, without collaboration, Manolo Blahnik went for classic to modern with these bright pink sandals.

'Ruggio' has 115mm heel with suede upper and black leather trim. It is currently on sale at Shop Savannahs for $458 previously $915.

[Buy here]

Manolo Blahnik's shift is something that is unexpected and yet it appeals to my taste. There is nothing wrong with trying different waters from time to time, right? And besides, these sandals are completely wearable unlike other designs.

'Bohu' has 105mm heel with suede upper and black leather human cutouts. It is also on sale at Shop Savannahs for $513 previously $1,025.

Cap toe / Capped toe pumps

Cap toe / capped toe pumps are all over the place. Not that I am complaining, I actually like them, whether in their pointy form or not (I prefer pointy). There is something sexy and formal about cap toes that lures me into buying one for myself. Luckily (unluckily), I do not have time yet to go to the mall.

However, if you fancy cap toes and could not wait to get yourself a pair, here are some cap toes available online. Just click on the shoe that you like and you will be directed to the website.

Happy shopping!

Manolo Blahnik 'Swan' embellished satin pump

Manolo Blahnik 'Swan' satin embellished pumps, $1,295 at Neiman Marcus. This is also available in white and black. Its upper is adorned with crystal embellished vine. It has 4 inch heel.
Le sigh!

This style (in white) was featured in The Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn I. I have not seen the movie yet (boo!) but I bet it is Bella Swan's wedding shoe, hence, the name.

Josie and the Pussycats are biting and scratching

Manolo Blahnik 'Heron' leopard bow pump, $765 at Neiman Marcus.

Josie and the Pussycats called and they want their spotlight back. Apparently, this Manolo Blahnik leopard bow pump is stealing the show. This pump is their serious competitor (if only it can sing), just look at that cute leopard bow and "collar". It has the perfect 4 inch heel and dipped sides for extra appeal. I am just wondering why Blahnik named it 'Heron'. I think it should be named 'Josie' or 'Pussycat'. What do you think?
